BIG HOLE RIVER FOUNDATION PROJECTS

Prioritizing For The Future

Our Priorities

We accomplish our mission by focusing on projects that follow key elements within the Big Hole River Basin:

• Research
We operate a water quality monitoring program to inform better understanding about the Big Hole's ecology, hydrology, and water quality. As the Big Hole is a rugged and remote river valley, there are many "unknowns" about its ecosystem and BHRF is the only organization consistently collecting data on nutrients & macroinvertebrates. The data we collect are available to state agencies, universities, and organizations to better understand and manage the Big Hole River watershed. We have a lot of work to do and with your help, we can conserve this rare and beautiful resource for future generations.

• Conservation
We support, participate, and facilitate conservation efforts, such as native fish restoration projects, riparian fencing and native vegetation restoration, noxious weed management, wetland improvement, woody vegetation management, wildlife and fisheries management and enhancement projects.

• Community Outreach
Our outreach efforts include providing educational opportunities to member of the Big Hole community- whether it be adults or children- and facilitating landowner and community-led conservation efforts.

This river is one-of-a-kind.

Help Us Protect It.
