BHRF Priorities

We accomplish our mission by focusing on key priorities within the Big Hole River Basin:

  • Conservation - we support, fund, and facilitate conservation efforts, such as native fish restoration projects, riparian fencing and native vegetation restoration, noxious weed management, wetland improvement, woody vegetation management, wildlife and fisheries management and enhancement projects.

  • Community Outreach - our outreach efforts include providing educational opportunities to member of the Big Hole community- whether it be adults or children- and facilitating landowner- and community-led conservation efforts.

  • Research - we support and fund research to answer important and timely questions about the Big Hole's ecology, hydrology, and community. As the Big Hole is a rugged and remote river valley, there are many "unknowns" about its ecosystem. The data we collect are available to agencies, universities, and organizations to better understand and manage the Big Hole River watershed.

We protect, conserve, and enhance the free-flowing Big Hole River and its unique culture, fisheries, and wildlife.
